Are you thinking about using a Cablecam? Are you scared? Poor guy.
Well, we are not just bullies and our intention here is helping you to start working with this nice equipment.
Nice? Yes, especially if you are looking to create aerial shots in places with people where Drones are not allowed.
So, the first thing is to clarify that the necessary requirements will change depending on the place you are. Not even by countries or cities, but even from each client you may have.
Who is the authority for this?
Right now, there is no specific regulation for the Cablecams. It’s being created in some places, but there is nothing clear yet.
In a real job, you can face an engineer, the local police, or just the producer from a concert.
In other words: The requirement will change depending on each guy in charge.
The good news is that even with this confusing authority deal, you have a limited pool of documentation and information they could ask you.
Documentation to Work
In most cases, the client will not ask you for anything specific. You probably just should prove that the system is safe, demonstrating that the rope and the anchor points are safe to use.
For this, we can share with you a Tension Calculator that offers you all this information in an easy way.
Having said that, you may also need the documentation for the “line” elements: the Rope, the Carabiners, and the Hand Winch.
If you buy from Noxon, we will send you all the CE Certifications when you place your order with us.
Obviously, the documentation will include the Cablecam Conformity Certified, explaining all the technical details of the equipment and the essential information to make good use.
Extra Requirements
In the Cablecam you can also install a Second Rope to improve the security. This is very common, especially if you are going to work over the crowd, and it’s reasonable that the organization ask you for this.
Both of the Noxon Cablecam can be used with a safety rope, so you don’t have to be worried about this.
Finally, in extreme requests, you may be asked to carry out a test report on the capacity to withstand the working tension of the line under vacuum (without the Cablecam mounted).
To do this, you must subject and monitor (using a load monitor) the rope to a tension 2-3 times higher than the maximum calculated.
Report the essay with images and include them in a brief report.
We hope we have helped you to solve your concerns regarding security with Cablecams. We know there isn’t much information out there, so please let us know any additional questions you may have by writing to info@noxon.tech.
