Right now, in terms of safety, Cablecams have better reception than Drones when you have to fly over the crowd or use your nice setup in the middle of a complex forest.
But the challenges are still there. I mean, you don’t want to smash heads or destroy your equipment against a tree. It would be funny, but expensive. And bloody.
In this article, we want to introduce you to this new improvement about the Virtual Limits in our High-Speed Cablecam.
We know what you are going to say (you always have something to say): the Virtual Limits are not the most trustworthy… Silence, please. Let us talk.
This is the change:
Now you can put a White Mark in the Rope to fix the Cablecam position. So, any little discrepancies created by the slips, the bad luck, or whatever, will be corrected every time the Cablecam passes over the White Mark.
How do we do this? With an infrared sensor that recognizes this mark and sends the instructions to the Cablecam circuit.
The best thing is that you can implement this easily.
You have to put a White Mark with Duct Tape in the rope (with at least 5cm length) and set the Virtual Limits with the Remote Controller. You will see a message on your screen asking you to confirm the White Mark. And then, it is already done.
This is a very nice solution and we worked a lot to implement it. So please be nice, even if you think this sucks.
And the Portable Wirecam?
As the speed is just 8km/h, the White Mark is used as the break activator. So you just have to put 2 marks a couple of meters before the anchor points and everything is gonna be alright.
You are welcome!
