How much are the weight limits?
For horizontal work, you can mount up to 5kg on the motorized slider without risking stability or movement smoothness.
In the vertical position, the limit is 3kg.
Can I use more weight in a vertical position?
In the vertical position, you can use the counterweight to exceed the 3kg limit.
Does the weight capacity change when using the slider upside down?
The slider’s weight capacity remains 5kg, even when used upside down with the pan/tilt module hanging under the rail. However, this setup can introduce additional strain on the motor due to the shifted weight distribution.
As long as your total payload (camera, lens, and accessories) stays within the 5kg limit, the system will function properly. Just keep in mind that extra care may be needed to ensure smooth operation.
How do I calculate the weight I will put on the slider?
For this, you will need to add the weight of all the elements that will go on the Slider, including the modules themselves (Tilting, Panning, and Follow Focus). These are the weights:
- -Panning Module: 520 g
- -Tilting Module: 775 g
- -Follow Focus Module: 320 g
To the resulting 1615g, you will need to add the weight of your camera and the lens you will use for your shots.
Is it possible to set Key Points? How many?
Yes, it is possible to set key points. Our Camera Slider allows you to set up to 4 of them.
Can I use it on two tripods?
Yes, you can attach the Slider with the help of two tripods. You can use a second anchoring plate or rotate the head of one of the tripods by 90º to anchor it directly.
Can I hang it from the ceiling?
Certainly. If you have any point where you can install a support compatible with anchoring plates, you won’t have any problems.
Can I join the rails?
No. The rails are interchangeable, so you can have a Slider of 150cm or 80cm depending on the needs of your work.
Is there an API to create my own instructions?
Although we do not have an API as such, we have a list of commands that can be useful when assembling your custom instructions.
Use your PC as a communication port, create your script, and let the Noxon Remote Control transmit the information to the Slider. If you want to have this list of commands, contact info@noxon.tech after making your purchase.
Is there any option for transporting it?
We have a custom Flightcase that will allow you to enjoy maximum security during your trips and avoid damage to the equipment. You can add it to the cart by clicking here.
What type of batteries does it use?
Thanks to its compatibility, you can use your own V-Mount Batteries.
Can the autonomy be extended?
If you want to take your Slider on a trip and, for example, record a high-quality Timelapse, you can take a couple of extra batteries with you. You can connect them in series to let the Slider work without the insecurity of losing your work.
Do I need Dragonframe or can I work with Stop-Motion Mode?
It will depend on the type of work you are doing and, above all, your preferences. Stop-Motion mode is highly reliable for frame-by-frame work, but Dragonframe is the ultimate tool in this field and greatly facilitates the activity of animators.
How can I work with Dragonframe?
You just need to include the Dragonframe Plugin to use our DFMoco control. Take a look at this Tutorial.
If you need something better to get Real-Time Movement and Blur Motion, we recommend you use the DMC Control for Dragonframe.
Do I need something else to use the Follow-Focus module?
Yes. You need the 15mm Smallrig Baseplate and the 15mm Smallrig Rods.
Do I need the Dragonframe plug-in to use the DMC?
Our Dragonframe plugin allows you to easily use DFMoco with Dragonframe. However, if you already have DMC, there’s no need for DFMoco, as DMC is a more advanced and versatile protocol.
DFMoco only supports shoot-move-shoot, meaning it can only be used for stop-motion or time-lapse animation. It does not support real-time motion control.
DMC, on the other hand, is a more comprehensive protocol that supports real-time motion control and also includes all the features of DFMoco.
Our Dragonframe plugin simply allows our systems to work with that software. Since you already have DMC, our plugin is not necessary. Please check this article for more details: DFMoco vs DMC Control for Dragonframe
